The series was officially announced by DreamWorks on Octo.
Douglas Sloan first hinted at the series on Twitter in March, 2020, stating that a new 'dragons' series was coming set in modern times. The first season of the series is set to premiere on December 23, 2021. and then Hiccup does something a little different. Dragons: The Nine Realms is an upcoming Hulu and Peacock original series based off the DreamWorks Dragons Franchise. While Astrid, Snotlout and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races (the island's new favorite contact sport), the now inseparable pair journey through the skies, charting unmapped territories and exploring new worlds. So here we see Hiccup ( Jay Baruchel) and his dragon Toothless exploring the outlying areas far from their home village. The thrilling second chapter of the epic How To Train Your Dragon trilogy brings back the fantastical world of Hiccup and Toothless five years later.
